Welcome to the companion website for the 4th edition of Politics: An Introduction to the Modern Democratic State. This site offers resources that complement and expand on the information available in the text.

All of the resources on the Instructor Site are available in the same format on the Student Site with the exception of the Testbank and Downloadables.  The testbank questions, including multiple choice and short answer, are designed specifically for instructor use. You will find them broken down by chapter and also available for download as MS Word documents.

The Chapter Guide menu presents the same resources your students will find on the open access side of the site. Here you’ll find the following features for each chapter:

  • Chapter Summary
  • Self-Study Questions – offers short-answer content questions to help you test your comprehension of the key issues in each chapter
  • Something to Consider – presents discussion questions to deepen analytical thinking, which are useful for tutorial or in-class discussions
  • Case Studies – not included in the text but that help bring concepts in the chapter to life (only included for some chapters)
  • Key Terms – offers brief definitions of key terms discussed in the chapter
  • Resources – includes References from the chapters, Further Reading, and Other Resources (videos, web-links, podcasts, etc.)

The Current Events section is also open access and profiles important political events that have developed since the textbook was published. This section will be updated regularly throughout the year, so check back each semester for new material.
